Aisha Schliessler
BIO
Cinema is in Aisha's blood. A third-generation filmmaker, she grew up on film sets watching her cinematographer father and wardrobe stylist mother and was instantly hooked. No surprise that she soon immersed herself on screen as an actor. An invaluable experience when it came to transferring her skills to directing her own films.
Her shorts are acclaimed for their beautifully judged performances and storytelling. Sparse and cinematic and full of nuance, films like Rhinestone Blue and The Call echo the understated, stylised tension of David Lynch and Sophia Coppola. Her recent film, A Great Love, has been featured across platforms and festivals, including NOWNESS, Girls in Film, and Berlin Commercial. Additionally, the film picked up Best Cinematography at the London Lift-Off Festival and was shortlisted for the 1.4 Awards. Her latest project, Manners, made in collaboration with womenswear brand LENY and Fujifilm, is set to release this summer.
Based in London and LA, Aisha brings her unique cinematic eye to commercials and branded content on both sides of the Atlantic.
